It really sucks to have a bad closer. You spend 8-9 innings watching the game, only to have him blow it. I remember in the days of Braves baseball on TBS, watching John Smoltz and hoping Braves would never have more than a 3 run lead, just so Smoltz could get a chance at the save. Smoltz was that good. When he was in, you knew the game was over. And that’s a great feeling to have about your team’s closer. But needless to say the Orioles can’t score enough runs for Johnson, I’d rather him not have any save situations to pitch in.
